Field Drills
I’ve been starting to work on some of the field drills we saw or participated in at the reunion/seminar with Cisco.
We’ve done wagon wheel 3 times and the progress and understanding I’ve seen each time has been amazing. Chris came out and helped us with the x-drill last night and was impressed with how much Cisco seems to love his retriever games. We’ve also worked memory “bird” throws. I was surprised when the path interfered with his ability to get the memory bird. I guess I shouldn’t have been because a.) Carol pretty much told us to expect that, and b.) about 3 feet in front of the path is where the invisible fence line is. (Cisco hasn’t worn his collar for 2 years and has been retrieving bumpers thrown across the path all summer, so I didn’t think that would be an issue.)
I’m considering entering him in the WC next month. I’m a little uncertain about the cover and the memory bird, but I think he has a chance at passing and I think the exposure would be good for us both.
